Oirad72 kindly shared his nifty roof design that utilizes shovels to create an excellent shingle look.
Basic two stud wide plates, jumper plates, 1×1 tile with clip, 1×1 round plates, and of course shovels are used in this design.
The 2 stud wide plates are stacked to form the base of the roof. And then 1×1 round plates and jumper plates are alternated to give half stud offsets.
Next, a tile with clip is attached to each of the exposed studs.
These are then used to hold the handles of the shovels.
Due to the length of the shovel element, they extend several studs past the plate base.
And you can then just continue this pattern for as large a space as your roof requires.
And here is another neat roof design that makes use of classic plastic capes.
Again two stud wide plates are used to provide the structural support, though in a different orientation this time.
This last design is very similar to the shovel technique, but doesn’t require any half stud offsets and makes use of hairbrushes or ice cream treats for the shingles.
You can see examples of several of these roof designs in oirad72’s Memories of Lecco creation:
Thanks for sharing your nifty roofs, Dario!
thank you.!!!!
