This month Koen shares an excellent method for creating a conical roof.
“Build this roof section 4 times.
The conical roof spire is meant to be put on a round tower of 8 studs in diameter. This picture shows a simple top op that round tower in tan covered with curved round tiles for a smooth transition to the roof.
For the inside of the spire I recommend using dark coloured parts. There are a few gaps visible in the final roof spire and you don’t want to see a multi-coloured inside.
To attach the roof sections from pictures 1 to 3 use hinge bricks with thin top plates.
Time to attach the roof sections. It can be a little bit tricky. The top of the roof sections touch the inner side. The bottom of the roof sections touch the curved round tiles.
Time to finish the conical roof spire with a couple of conical parts.
You can build this roof spire in other colours as well. I used these roof spires in my MOC Gnome Castle.”
Thanks for taking the time to share your design, Koen. I know I found it useful!
