Headlight Brick Cobblestone Tutorial

Here’s another useful cobblestone technique to give your streets a unique look. It’s been used for quite a few years in the community, and I first took inspiration for the design from Mike.

My version starts off using various plates to set up two stud wide sections with a two plate offset between each section.

Then headlight bricks with small tiles or plates are added. The framework of plates makes the design solid and two studs thick for a smooth fit with studs up areas of the build.

Stack one wide bricks off the bottom stud to provide support for the upper layer of headlight bricks.

I chose to have three brick tall stacks of headlights before using plates to lock them back in with the support layer below.

Then I used some more 2×2 plates and a 1×8 plate to solidly lock everything together.

Repeat that pattern for as big of streets as needed and cap the end with tiles. Of course you’ll want to make sure that the street is an even number of studs long for easy incorporation into the scene.

I used this design for my Fresh Baked Goods! model, and set a portion of the same technique at an angle for a sloping road.

We hope you enjoyed the tutorial, and if you have any questions let us know!
